Karen Klami

Karen was a member of the Castleton University Theatre Arts Department Faculty from 2004-17. Originally from New York City, where she received her MA in Theatre at Hunter College, Karen has been instructing playwrights and screenwriters since the 1990s, has won awards for her plays and screenplays, and has had several works produced in New York City and Vermont. For several years she and her husband co-directed a summer camp and workshop for young artists producing original musicals.  In May, 2018, she was a guest director for the Weston Playhouse Young Playwright’s Festival.  Karen teaches a weekly Script Writer’s Workshop at Stone Valley Arts in Poultney, VT and has six eBooks of original plays, screenplays and poetry available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  She also holds an MA in English Language Learner Education and teaches ELL students at the Two Rivers Supervisory Union in Ludlow, VT.
